hey rani, i got some info.
Protozoa are Single-Celled microscopic Eukaryotic organisms that are noted for their ability to Move Independently. INFO- OTHER GROUPS DO NOT TAKE!!!! for group shans and cariss
these are algae- they contain photosynthetic pigments which allow them to photopsynthesize- the are therrefore "photoautotrrophic"
plant-like protists make their own food and many have cell walls made of cellulose for cariss and shans only!!!!
Kingdom Plantae
Plants are complex multicellular photosynthetic autotrophs, with cellulose in their cell walls and a waxy cuticle covering their aboveground parts. They are easily distinguishable from members of all other kingdoms, with the possible exception of their simpler ancestors in the Protista kingdom, the green algae. Over evolutionary time, plants improved their ability to live on land by developing a variety of important features. Plants can be divided into four major groups, displaying a progressively greater degree of adaptation to the terrestrial environment.
heyee people (=
uhhhm , okaaay so here`s our
CHARACTERiSTiCS.
*ARE UNiCELLULAR
*M0ST ARE CAPABLE 0F M0VEMENT
*ARE AUT0TROPHS
*USE LiGHT ENERGY T0 MAKE F0OD
*MANY 0RGANiSMS RELY ON PLANT-LiKE PR0TiSTS FOR FO0D.
- valerie :]
Plants, ranging from the simple liverwort (a bryophyte) to the flowering plants (angiosperms), have …Encyclopædia Britannica, Inc.any member of the kingdom Plantae, multicellular, eukaryotic life forms characterized by (1) photosynthetic nutrition, in which chemical energy is produced from water, minerals, and carbon dioxide with the aid of pigments and the radiant energy of the Sun, (2) essentially unlimited growth at localized regions, (3) cells that contain cellulose in their walls and are therefore to some extent rigid, (4) the absence of organs of locomotion, resulting in a more or less stationary existence, (5) the absence of sensory and nervous systems, and (6) life histories that show an alteration of haploid and diploid generations, with the dominance of one over the other being taxonomically significant.
. Identify the characteristics of your Protist group.
2. Identify and briefly describe the different types of Protists in your group.
3. Explain the different ways the Protists in your group move.
4. Explain how the Protists in your group affect other organisms.
5. Predict what the world would be like without the Protist group you have been assigned.
Red Algae:
- red in color
- may appear green or blue sometimes
Green Algae:
- most diverse group of algae
- green in color
Blue/Green Algae(Cyanobacteria):
- appears blue/green (how it got its name)
- is olive green or red sometimes
-form in shallow, warm, slow moving or still water.
BROWN:
- mostly found in marine habitats
- brown in color
Diatoms:
- delicate unicellular organisms
- yellow brown in color
Golden Algae:
- found mostly in fresh water
-goldish color
